By connecting to the real world of students’ lives, authentic learning enables students to become lifelong learners who contribute to society and the wider world as active and discerning citizens. Authentic learning is central to our work as Catholic educators because it promotes the continual growth and wellbeing of the whole person — spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically.

At Aquinas Catholic College Menai we are led by our motto – Enlivened by the Spirit – where we seek to equip, challenge, and inspire our community to see themselves as lifelong learners.

Our Enlivened Learning approach represents an overarching vision that encapsulates the wisdom of our patron St Thomas Aquinas as a model of fruitful, faithful, and deep learning.

At the heart of Enlivened Learning lies a challenge to all members of our college community to ASPIRE and build strong relationships based on the Aquinas Ways: Act, Strive, Persevere, Inspire, Respect, and Engage.

These statements act as touchstones in that they capture a unique sense of our student centred identity linked to our patron Saint. Enlivened Learning is a holistic experience, fostering a student centred environment that is embedded in challenging learning opportunities, and quality feedback, and reflected through positive relationships that inspire our students to aspire to be their very best.
